Busker's Lounge
Conner Design was commissioned to create a sports bar & lounge in the heart of North Station's, Bullfinch Triangle, just yards from the TD Banknorth Garden. The program required a multi-functional space that could morph from a bar / restaurant to pool hall, lounge, and dance club. An elevated platform was conceived to create an intimate seating area and provide storage for the pool tables when not in use. Dimmable and color changing LED lighting was integrated into the bar to change the mood with the occasion. The Architect worked closely with the sound systems contractor and electrical / fire alarm engineers to ensure that in the event of an emergency the music would turn off to allow for the audible alarms to be heard. The mood and disco lighting were also designed to give way to emergency lighting to facilitate egress in the event of a fire. Busker's Lounge needed to share the lower level kitchen with ‘The Grand Canal' and Conner Design was able to facilitate the process and create a secured connection between the two adjoining spaces.
